In preparation for the big day...:)

The floor looked like an apparel store changing room last afternoon. The T Shirts for all 120 team members came in yesteday. As is the case with new clothes, the rush to try them on was definetely understandable. Big Daddy had problems fitting into his shirt. Very very reliable sources have informed me that Big Daddy has put on 20 kgs since his high school days resulting in the "Fit" issues. Ineterstingly, the Jersey colour for Shae s Best is Golden and Black - which as most of you are aware, is the jersey colour of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Looks like Big Daddy is emulating King Khan's ways... i know what most of you are thinking.. will we see Big Daddy with those eight pack abs King Khan flaunted in "Om Shanti Om" ? We ll have to wait and watch .. the himalayan trip might work wonders :).

Coming to the other owner who's fate will be decided on friday .. Mr.Mangalore Bhajji.. from what i hear, he ll have Mrs. Mangalore Bhajji in the stands cheering from him. As the saying goes .. behind every successful man ...

Ooh.. as i mentioned in one of the earlier blog posts.. there WILL be biryani for the big day and a lot of yummy stuff for the veggies as well ..
There s truckloads more to update you guys on .. for now, i need to get back to work... volumes are slightly high in my process today .. i am sure u are all well aware of what that feels like.. :)

Its Update time again...

We apologize for the delay in the blog updates. The blogger had what we would call the "Ghajini" effect and forgot his password. But all s fine now.
So coming to the updates, in yesterday s match, The Mavericks beat Shae's Best in what was a highly close and energy packed encounter. Today s match had the Panthers meeting the Mustangs and the Panthers eventually prevailed. What is really inetersting to note is that in both matches the first over made a difference. In yesterday s match, Miss Pout's knock of 21 in the first over proved to be crucial. And in today s match, Miss Powder Nose faced the first over and made 19 runs out of it which made a big difference as well..

SCANDAL ALERT: MJ caught dancing with 'Laila'

So as most of you are well aware by now, MJ's obsession with a certain Miss "Laila" resulted in the SPL matches being called off today. But the next few matches on the cards are definetely going to be blockbusters. Firstly, the Mustangs play the Panthers which is going to be interesting because both these teams are currently considered underdogs. I wouldnt be suprised if they pull of suprise victories over Shae s Best or the Mavericks later in the tournament.

The other match next week has the Mavericks playing Shae s Best. This is going to see a clash of the 2 costliest players in the bidding- Muscle Man and MJ. It will certainly be exciting to see who prevails on wednesday.

On the floor, the SPL fervor is still going very strong with team members constantly discussing strategy and practicing cricket in their Aisles.. puttin to risk a few windows and computers of course.. I really hope CRE-Building Operations does not stumble upon this blog. Till the time they do .. please continue the aisle cricket guys... its the closest we are getting to our childhood days of gully cricket..

Less fashion .. more passion ...

Talk on the floor is that the panthers at the moment are more focussed on their aesthetic capabilities rather than their cricketing capabilities. Less spikes .. longer pants and lesser powder should help the team ..

More gossip ..

So the best catcher in the Mustangs also turned out to be the best batsman.Miss Sharepoint Captain turned out to be the highest scorer for the Mustangs with 8 runs.. As most of you must have heard by now, the Mavericks beat the Mustangs. Looks like the Bhajjis were a little too spicy for the horses .

In the other match, Shae's best devoured the Panthers for lunch as promised by them in their teaser.

P.S : Were you all aware that you could get a No Ball for the keeper talking while the ball is being bowled ?

It was a dark and stormy afternoon..

The SPL finally got underway ... woo hooo .. At the outset we were a little disappointed because the rains threatened to play spoilsport but in the end our never say die spirit saw us start the tournament in earnest. Great going guys.. This is exactly the stuff we need to win the T10 cricket cup.

OK .. enough of me being nice .. its time to get to the juicy stuff that happened on day1 of the tournament..

So .. the SPL started with a nice big Duck .. courtesy miss nose powderer. Looks like all the make up didnt pay off in the end..

Its D Day Ladies and Gentlemen..

Alright.. so the moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived .. its match Day! the Panthers play Shae s Best while the mavericks play the Mustangs . I hear that the owner of the Mavericks (Mr.Mangalore Bhajji) and the owner of the Mustangs (Mr.Gates) share a mentee - mentor relationship . wonder if this will result in any "dropped catches" or "misfields" by the Mavericks.
